Women In Leadership Society exists to make women in Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) and related healthcare technology fields more visible, more connected, and more supported.
HTM has a people problem. The industry is working through recruitment gaps, retirements, too few early-career candidates and unclear career ladders. Women are part of the solution, not a side conversation.
Yet many women in HTM still walk into rooms where they are the only one. They need visibility, mentorship, confidence, career pathways, and access to women who have already moved through the industry.
WIL brings that together, so the industry can recruit, retain, and grow stronger leaders.
WIL started with a simple observation: women in healthcare technology management needed a place to find each other. Our founder, April Lebo, saw how much a supportive network had shaped her own career and wanted every woman in the field to have one.
What began as a grassroots, volunteer effort grew into a community of more than 700 women in our private LinkedIn group, WIL Lounges at industry conferences such as AAMI eXchange and MD Expo, free webinars, WAR Stories (Women Are Remarkable), and our podcast, In The Room.
April was nominated as TechNation’s Influencer of the Year because of WIL’s momentum and visibility.
A private LinkedIn group where women in HTM connect, share and support each other.
WIL Lounges at industry conferences, plus free webinars.
WAR Stories and the In The Room podcast put women’s leadership journeys on the record.
A mentorship program we are building with our community.
WIL is for women working in HTM: biomedical equipment, imaging, medical equipment service, clinical engineering, field service, healthcare technology operations and related roles. It’s also for women entering the field: students, early-career techs, apprentices and career changers.
Allies, employers, educators and industry partners who want to support women in HTM are welcome to sponsor, partner and cheer us on.
